A DATE FOR YOUR DIARIES

17th April 2013 at 7.00 for 7.30pm start at Loughborough University's Sir Robert Martin Theatre.

We are holding our Annual Public Lecture on the 17th April. And the Speaker will be Professor Ted Cantle CBE , from the Institute of Community Cohesion (ICoCo), Coventry University.

Ted Cantle has recently published an important book on just these issues: Interculturalism: The New Era of Cohesion and Diversity, (2012), Palgrave Macmillan. It has caused considerable debate - not least because it was Ted Cantle who, after the UK Race Riots in 2001, led the Government Panel on cohesion for five years, set up ICoCo, and as the author in 2005 & 2008 of Community Cohesion for Race and Diversity.

In his new book he confronts what he sees as the failures of Multiculturalism and seeks to establish a new concept of intercultural.

Ted Cantle will present a lecture about this - to be followed by a question and answer session.

There is no admission charge. We would urge you book places well in advance to help facilitate seating and advise us if anyone has special needs for access or hearing and parking on campus.
